This is a business logo I designed for my dad’s upcoming website bestdealsontents.com. I think the name says it all. So, if you find yourself in need of a tent, check it out!

New Paintings on Display!
A collection of my oil paintings are currently on display at the 5th Ave. Anthropologie in Seattle. The show will remain up through June, hope you can drop by to take a gander.
Here are my two newest pieces.
The thistle painting was done from one of the photos I took while Seth and I were hiking in Switzerland in 2008. I don’t usually do botanical illustrations, so this was kinda an experiment. I really enjoyed it and wouldn’t mind doing a few more.
The lion painting was partly inspired by my trip to the zoo a while back and partly by my desire to do alphabet illustrations. Hence, L is for lion. 🙂
Happy Valentines Day!

Open Air
My family went on a trek through the mountains of Idaho last week. I fell in love with the aspen groves. Sadly, this is the only painting I had time to make on our excursion. We took plenty of picutres, though, so perhaps I will do a painting or two from them in the future.

Doggie Portraits

Pet portraiture is something I never would have thought to do on my own. I did my first pet portrait of a sweet golden retriever puppy for someone who saw me doing portraits of children at a Farmers Market a few years back. I was a little hesitant about trying my hand at it, since my forte’ has always been human portraiture. But it turned out great, and I ended up doing two portraits for that client. I’ve done about a dozen pet portraits since. Some in watercolor, some in oils. In the end, it’s been rather amusing and, really, quite fun. Thank you, all you pet lovers, for broadening my horizons!
