Last summer I illustrated this book about a grandpa and grandson exploring a river together. Many of the illustrations have hidden pictures. It was a really fun project. This Saturday at 11 a.m. Melanie Maddy and I will be at the Snow Goose Bookstore in Syanwood for a book signing.
Should be fun! Hope to see you there!

Super
Mom, can I have a tattoo?
Today the request was for a Komodo Dragon. How could I refuse? The grandparents took him and his brothers to the zoo on Sunday. Homespun temporary tattoos (ballpoint pen drawings on skin) are the norm around here. Sometimes I do them, sometimes they do their own. At 6, 4 and 2 1/2 it can get pretty extensive. Full body crayola marker tats are quite common.
It’s fun being a mom.
Camp Elkanah Map
This is a project I finished a while back. It was a lot of fun and a bit of a challenge as I’ve never actually been to the camp. I had lots of pictures and the camp’s old map to go on.
I especially enjoyed adding the people and the vehicles. Adding a bit of myself to the work, the red car is based on our current vehicle. Our brave little toaster. The van is based on one of the more conspicuous family vehicles from my childhood. My parents had eight of us kids so why not drive around in a giant yellow-orange bus? 😉
